Dr. Shelly Mize, first runner-up for Superintendent of the Year in Alabama in 2014, is known for her commitment to innovative and effective education, and for her community building, team-leadership approach. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and her Master of Arts and Doctorate of Education degrees from Samford University. She has been fifth grade teacher, Testing Coordinator, Principal, and Superintendent.
